Challenge: A popular A2 Milk supplier from Ahmedabad faced significant challenges in ensuring the on-time, error-free, and efficient last-mile delivery of A2 Milk Bottles to customers within the critical early morning window of 4:00 am to 7:00 am. This time-sensitive delivery requirement presented logistical hurdles, as even minor delays or errors could lead to customer dissatisfaction. Moreover, the client struggled with real-time tracking of the bottles, making it difficult to monitor delivery progress and promptly address any customer concerns that arose during this crucial timeframe.
Strategy: To tackle these challenges, we conducted an in-depth supply chain analysis of the client’s operations, aiming to identify pain points and develop a robust solution that would enhance the entire delivery process, from order placement to final delivery.
We devised a comprehensive operational blueprint focused on optimizing the order fulfillment process. The strategy began with the seamless capture of orders through our advanced Booking Management System (BMS) – Innofulfill. This system ensured that all customer orders were accurately recorded and tracked from the moment of booking.
Next, we streamlined the inbound logistics by initially coordinating the collection of 50 bottles from the warehouse. The bottles were then organized and prepared for dispatch in a manner that minimized handling time and ensured that the right number of bottles were allocated to the correct delivery routes. As the operation grew, the daily delivery volume increased exponentially to over 1,200 bottles.
The cornerstone of our strategy was the last-mile delivery phase. We deployed a fleet of well-trained riders, each assigned to specific routes to ensure timely delivery. Each rider was equipped with real-time tracking technology, allowing us to monitor their progress and quickly address any potential issues, such as route deviations or delays. This also enabled us to provide customers with accurate delivery updates.
To further enhance efficiency, we implemented a proof-of-delivery system that verified successful deliveries and immediately flagged any discrepancies. This allowed us to maintain a high level of accuracy and ensure that any customer concerns were swiftly resolved.
Result: With this meticulously planned and executed logistics strategy, we achieved a remarkable 99.5% accuracy rate in delivering over 1,200 bottles within the designated timeframe. The successful coordination of trained riders, combined with our robust systems for order management, real-time tracking, and proof of delivery, not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations. The operation saw an astounding 2300% growth, scaling from 50 to over 1,200 bottles daily. The streamlined delivery approach enabled the A2 Milk supplier to focus on their core business and further expand their operations.
