Product Manager – Pricing

Role Overview:

As a Product Manage /Sr PM r for Pricing and Strategy, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of pricing models and strategies for our logistics offerings. A major focus of this role will be on leveraging data science and machine learning (ML) to develop and implement innovative pricing solutions. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing pricing structures, improving profitability, and enhancing our competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Management:

  • Define the vision, roadmap, and scope for pricing-related products and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with data science, engineering, and business teams to build and enhance ML-driven pricing tools.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
  • Drive end-to-end product lifecycle management, including ideation, development, deployment, and iteration.

ML Models & Data Science Integration:

  • Work closely with data science teams to design, test, and deploy ML models for pricing optimization, demand forecasting, and cost analysis.
  • Prioritize use cases for ML applications, such as:
    • Dynamic pricing models based on real-time market and operational data.
    • Predictive analytics for demand and supply trends.
    • Segmentation models for customer-specific pricing strategies.
    • Optimization algorithms for cost reduction and profit maximization.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring and refinement of deployed models to maintain accuracy and performance.

Pricing Optimization:

  • Leverage ML models to dynamically adjust pricing in response to market fluctuations, operational constraints, and customer behavior.
  • Conduct simulations and scenario analyses to test the effectiveness of pricing strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in pricing decisions through data-driven insights.

Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement innovative pricing strategies that align with business goals and market conditions.
  • Analyze competitive pricing structures and identify opportunities to differentiate SMILE’s offerings.
  • Define KPIs to measure the success of pricing initiatives and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Data-Driven Analytics:

  • Build data pipelines and visualization tools to provide actionable insights into pricing performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable data infrastructure for pricing analytics.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in product management, pricing strategy, or analytics roles, preferably in logistics or supply chain.
    • Strong background in data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
    • Understanding of pricing algorithms, optimization techniques, and statistical modeling.
    • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Business Acumen:
    • Experience in developing pricing models and strategies in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
    • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
